Description of the event in English
The Swiss Epidemics Act (EpA) regulates the protection of humans against communicable diseases and provides for necessary measures. The EpA is currently being revised to incorporate the experience gained to date with the implementation of the law and the Covid-19 epidemic. The new draft law is expected to be put out for consultation in Autumn 2023 and processed in parliament from 2025.
During the consultation period, the Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (MCID) of the University of Bern is organising a symposium on the revision of the EpA. The symposium will present the revision project, reflect on it from a scientific point of view and provide space for discussions between scientists, politicians and administration.
The symposium is aimed at scientists, representatives from the administration and politics, as well as people from civil society who are interested in the topic. This event will be held in German.
