'Insider tips' towards publication
The Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (MCID) and the Department for BioMedical Research (DBMR) were pleased to host a seminar by Dr Yingyu Liu, Scientific Editor at Cell Host & Microbe (Cell Press, USA), on Monday, 27 April 2026. The event, hosted by Prof. Dr. Bahtiyar Yilmaz (DBMR), attracted a full audience.
Dr Liu delivered an engaging and insightful presentation offering a behind-the-scenes look at the publication process. She guided attendees through the full journey of a manuscript, from the initial step of contacting the editorial team to assess whether a project fits the journal’s scope, to navigating peer review and responding effectively to reviewers’ comments.
A key takeaway from the seminar was the supportive role of editors throughout the publication process. As Dr Liu emphasized on behalf of the editorial team: “We are here to support you!”
