The MCID is delighted to congratulate Melanie on the successful defence of her PhD, titled “Interplay between the Malaria Parasite and the Gut Microbiota”.
Melanie is a PhD student in the Department for Biomedical Research and Institute of Cell Biology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. med. Andrew Macpherson, Prof. Dr. Stephanie Ganal-Vonarburg and Prof. Dr. Volker Heussler. Her PhD research was conducted as part of the MCID-funded project "Understanding the interplay between the immune system, the malaria parasite and the microbiota, with a focus on sepsis".
