Congratulations to the BEready team, who are now officially “READY” after successfully completing the enrolment phase of the project. More than 1,500 households have been recruited, marking a major milestone for the study. To celebrate this achievement, UniAktuell spoke with Eva Maria Hodel (BEready Project Manager), about the project and its significance.
BEready is co-led by Prof. Dr. med. Nicola Low, Prof. Dr. med, Gilles Wandeler and Prof. Dr. med. vet. Simone Schuller. It is one of three cluster activities funded by the MCID, established to conduct a cohort study of healthy residents (and their pets) in the Canton of Bern. The data generated will play a crucial role in pandemic preparedness, providing valuable insights should a new pandemic emerge in the future. This is a unique study, with no comparable initiatives currently underway anywhere else in the world.
